The "At Last" singer who's sampled on Flo Rida's
"Good Feeling" succumbed to health ailments that have plagued her for
the past few years.
Singing legend Etta James has passed away at 73 years old.
The Blues/Jazz singer, who suffered from dementia and
hepatitis C, died at a hospital in Riverside, California, according to CNN.com.
According to her longtime friend and manager Lupe De Leon, she had been
diagnosed with leukemia in 2010.
The “At Last” performer had won six Grammy awards and was
voted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. James was sampled in Hip Hop
spordically, including on Flo Rida's hit single "Good Feeling" and Kanye West's 2005 song,
"Addiction."
She suffered from several health and substance abuse
problems during her lifetime, including obesity and heroin addiction.
