No I.D. is the New VP



The producer takes an executive VP position at the legendary label.
Producer No I.D. has announced that he has taken a position as executive VP of Def Jam Recordings.
During ASCAP’s Rhythm and Soul pre-VMAs Bowling Mixer, the Chicago, Illinois native broke the news toBillboard.biz. "I'm (now) executive VP of Def Jam," he said. "I'm going to keep on doing what I'm doing and take it to another level.
"Def Jam is a cultural staple," he continued. "It's not just a label, it's part of the culture that I came up in and that I've been involved with for 20 years. It's very important that the next generation of executives grab it by the horns and keep it on track as it grows."
No I.D. most recently contributed to Big Sean’s Finally Famous: The Album and Jay-Z and Kanye West’sWatch the Throne. He is currently helming the entirety of Common’s The Dreamer, The Believer.
