TIP Back In The FEDS!!!!!!

UPDATE: Prison officials took issue with Tip's mode of transportation from prison to home and have hauled him back to jail.

Only a day after his release from Federal Correctional Center in Forrest City, Arkansas to a halfway house in Atlanta, Georgia, T.I. has been removed to a "different facility" because prison officials objected to his using a tour bus to move between locations. He is now in federal custody.

According to CNN.com, Tip had agreed to provide his own transportation from the prison to his halfway home, but now federal prison officials are reviewing how got there - by tour bus.
A U.S. Bureau of Prison spokeswoman said she could not yet disclose where T.I. was transferred.

[September 1]

UPDATE: According to TMZ, T.I. allegedly misled prison officials into thinking his mode of transportation from prison to his halfway home would be "low-key," along the lines of a van. Instead, he took a luxury bus to his house, which the prison didn't consider "low-key."
When U.S. Marshals arrived to take him back to jail, Tip supposedly mouthed off at them for catching him on such a "ridiculous violation." He is currently being held in federal custody.

T.I. Lands Series on VH1

The newly liberated rapper will star in a 10-episode series examining his life post-prison.
Released from prison earlier this morning, T.I. will star in a reality show for VH1 that follows his life post-incarceration.

Tip, who was released to a halfway house after 10 months in prison for a probation violation, will star in the untitled 10-episode series, airing on December 5th at 10 p.m.
Each half-hour episode will see him “re-acclimate back into his life as a father, husband, son and friend, as well as a musician, a clothier, a businessman, and an actor.” He will also document the recording of his new album, the follow-up to last year’s No Mercy.

“Viewers have always connected with T.I. and we are definitely thrilled to show the next chapter of this incredible artist’s riveting life with this new series,” said Jeff Olde, EVP, Original Programming and Production VH1.  “T.I. is such a multi- talented artist and actor, and though he has had some setbacks, there is no doubt he will use his considerable talents to get back on top of both the music and film business.”

The Kings Of the South Returns!

T.I. will be reportedly released from prison in just a few days.
According to MTV News, Tip, who is currently serving an 11-month sentence in Forrest City Correctional Facility in Georgia, will be moved to a halfway house on August 31st, a month before he was originally supposed to be released from prison on September 29th.
The Grand Hustle honcho entered prison back in November 2010 for violating his probation. He has since been updating fans on his status through his website, most recently posting his last open letter before his release.

[August 29]
UPDATE: According to XXLMag.com, T.I. will not be released from prison tomorrow as previously reported. Tip's lawyer, Jonathan Leonard, says that the Bureau of Prisons doesn't release information of prison releases until the very last minute and that "they don't even cooperate with me and tell me much of anything."

“The Bureau of Prisons makes all the decisions once [someone goes] into the federal system then the federal prisons is the governing body as to when he’s released, the judge has no control over it,” he explained. “And you don’t have any real contact with them, they don’t communicate with you and they don’t tell you when exactly he’s gonna be released.”

UPDATE #2: According to TMZ, T.I. was released from prison earlier this morning to either home confinement or a community living facility. Chris Burke, spokesman for the Federal Bureau of Prisons, says he was released at 7:29 a.m. and is "in transit" to finish out his sentence. Tip also tweeted to let fans know he's out of prison.

Find A Good Mentor (Tip of the week Aug 21, 2011)

A good mentor possesses the following qualities:

1. Willing to share skills, knowledge, and expertise.

A good mentor is willing to teach what he/she knows and accepts the mentee where they currently are in their professional development. A good mentor can remember what it was like to start out in the field. The mentor understands that good mentoring requires time and commitment and is willing to continually share information and their ongoing support with the mentee.

2. Demonstrates a positive attitude and acts as a positive role model.

A good mentor exhibits the personal attributes it takes to be successful in the field. By showing the mentee what it takes to be productive and successful, they are demonstrating the specific behaviors and actions required to succeed in the field.

3. Takes a personal interest in the mentoring relationship.

Good mentors do not take their responsibility as a mentor lightly. They feel invested in the success of the mentee. Usually this requires someone who is knowledgeable, compassionate, and someone who possesses the attributes of a good teacher or trainer. Excellent communication skills are also required. A good mentor is committed to helping their mentees find success and gratification in their chosen profession. Overall good mentoring requires empowering the mentee to develop their strengths, beliefs, and personal attributes.

4. Put your pride to the side.

Even I’m guilty of this sometimes, the, “think I know it all” attitude but I’m glad I have real good friends that keep it real with me , first there’s my friend Boss Baby no matter what we talk about she will always keep it one-hundred with me. Sometimes I just call her to pick her massive brain for information when I’m feeling lost, but she will never agree with me on something if she feels I’m wrong and that’s what I love about her. We all get to “feeling ourselves” at some point and need a reality check, then there is Carlos Stephens, another friend that I share my ideals and life trials with and he always makes sure I’m making the right decisions in business and life so I’m blessed to have people that keeps me striving for more, so build a solid team around you and not a bunch of yes men……

Testimonial from Codebluu

“Having a mentor in the music industry is probably the best tool to have besides the talent and the drive to be successful. I personally can tell you that when I first started doing music I didn’t have a clue where to start, it was all trial and error, during my time in the group Arson Squad we tried to perform at every venue we could no matter if there was 1 or 100 people there, we just wanted to force our brand on people, but the main thing that was missing was we didn’t have a brand; we didn’t have our own sound; we were taking beats from the internet and just rapping to be heard. Once I linked up with Mr. Trotter he pointed this out to me and started to develop me as an artist not just a rapper and showed me how to present myself to the world in a way they would accept and become die-hard fans. The best piece of advice I got from Mr. Trotter was “Look Good and Sound Good” and by following that motto with everything I do I have found success.”

TI's Last Letter Before his Release in September

Tip reaches out to his fans one last time before he's back on the streets next month.

T.I. has written an open letter to his fans one last time before his release from prison on September 29th.
The letter, posted on his website TrapMuzik.com, reflects on the long road that he's traveled throughout the years, explaining that many who know his suffering and pain are surprised that he could endure it for so long.
"A lot of people who are aware of all that has happened to me in my life say that there aren’t many men who could have endured and withstood so much pain, pressure and turmoil while managing to remain sane and keep their wits about them," he wrote. "I must say that I wouldn’t have been able to do so without God’s grace and having a strong support system behind me every step of the way."

Read the full letter below.

What up world? This will be my last message from Forrest City. Just reaching out and sending my love, respect and appreciation to all who have been ridin’ with me throughout this chapter in my life and not just recently but since all the things started happening one after another back in ’06. From Big Phil’s murder to my beautiful little angel Leiah being called home to heaven, to my arrest in ’07, the 1st prison sentence in ’09, to this last journey that I’m nearing the end of. A lot of people who are aware of all that has happened to me in my life say that there aren’t many men who could have endured and withstood so much pain, pressure and turmoil while managing to remain sane and keep their wits about them. I must say that I wouldn’t have been able to do so without God’s grace and having a strong support system behind me every step of the way. So often we spend time acknowledging the presence of “haters” and all the negativity they send our way but we don’t take the time to acknowledge and appreciate all the ones who love and support us and supply us with the positive energy we need to overcome. We complain about the pain so much that we don’t even notice how much stronger, wiser and better of a person the suffering has allowed us to become. I heard Pac say once “To live is to suffer and to survive is to find meaning in that suffering.” I later found out it came from an author by the name of Friedrich Nietzsche. When I heard Pac say that it was just some hard shit to hear your favorite rapper say before he kicked a verse. Now that I’ve gone through it and grown from it those words have a real true meaning to me. I know this won’t be my last battle with adversity but it has truly prepared me for whatever else may come in the future. For that also I’m thankful. Now it goes without saying that I hate I had to come back to prison for these 10 months but I am truly grateful for the knowledge, growth and understanding I’ve received from the experience.

Next time you hear from me I’ll be back out there with you. Doing for those who can’t do for themselves and speaking for those whose voices are never heard. When I touch down, I’m going all the way back to square one, like I’m fresh in the game and never sold a record. Back on some I’M SERIOUS, TRAP MUZIK shit… But until then RESPECT to all who deserve it. I’ll be back at you in a minute.

- KING

Ace Hood Shares his real "Blood, Sweat and Tears"!

The Def Jam rapper speaks on getting a second chance and reveals he asked DJ Khaled for financial assistance.

Ace Hood released his latest album Blood, Sweat & Tears yesterday, but he traveled a long road to get there. Speaking with Power 105’s The Breakfast Club, the Def Jam rapper explained that he faced eviction and financial troubles before beginning this album and that he wasn’t even sure if music was the right career choice.

“I’m ecstatic about it, man. I put my pain and my life experiences into this album. It’s truly what I’ve been through,” he said. “Prior to me actually taking time off, I went through a lot of ups and downs financially, personal situations in my life. So Blood, Sweat and Tears is just my grind, but it’s not so much about the struggle, but what I did to get through it.”

After his money started running low, Ace faced eviction from his home and put his career on hold to reflect on his choices. “I was just thinking, what’s going to be my next move, musically? I kind of went back to my old roots. My family is Christian, so I kind of sat music aside for a little bit. I ended up getting back into it. I questioned whether or not this was right for me.”

He reveals he even reached out to DJ Khaled for financial help, but the media mogul told him to instead solve his woes by making hit records. “I wouldn’t say so much as eviction. Me and the landlord weren’t really vibing. Back in the past, he tried to take me to court and all that stuff, but I got through it. Of course, I reached out to Khaled plenty of times. I really appreciate Khaled for really being that mentor.”
Watch the rest of the interview below, where he talks about dropping the same day as Jay-Z and Kanye West’s Watch the Throne, getting a second chance and more.

Damn Beanie!!!!!!!

The Broad Street Bully cops to failing to file his taxes, and now possibly faces jail time as a result.

It looks like the Broad Street Bully Beanie Sigel may be heading back to prison sometime soon. Like Ja Rule before him, Beans recently admitted guilt to failing to file his taxes between the years 2003 and 2005.

According to a recent report from ABC News, the State Property and former Roc-a-Fella rapper admitted to not filing his taxes during the two year period. Although his lawyer contests the amount of money owed, the prosecution says that Beans owes $350,000 out of a reportedly $1 million income that went undeclared.
The punishment Beanie Sigel faces with this latest legal mishap could be quite severe. If convicted at his November 18 hearing, he could face up to three years in prison.

This isn't the first time that Beans has had trouble with the law. In 2004, Beans was sentenced to prison for possession of a gun and drugs. He was also sent back to prison in 2008 for violating his parole terms three times, and also currently faces a lawsuit stemming from a shooting incident outside Philadelphia's Power 99.

Big Boi Is Free!

Grammy Award-winning rapper Big Boi was released from the Miami–Dade County jail today (August 8th).

The rapper was taken into custody on drug possession charges by U.S. Customs and Border agents, after they allegedly found Viagra and the drug known as MDMA in his luggage after a cruise.

A lawyer for Big Boi released a statement stating that the rapper would be "exonerated" of the charges.

According to his attorney, the drugs were found in the “collective luggage” of the group of people he was traveling with.

"While Big Boi was traveling with his group and friends, a small amount of contraband was found in the collective luggage," the lawyer said in a statement. "I am confident when the entire facts are aired Big Boi will be completely exonerated."

Most of the time, Viagra is taken with MDMA to enhance sexual pleasure. In 2003, producer Irv Gotti was caught with the illegal combination.

Gotti was forced to enter a drug diversion program in Oakland California.

Big Boi himself seemed to find a bit of humor in the arrest. He took to his Twitter page earlier today where he addressed the arrest.

"Fresh Out Baby! Sh*t they said it was the Love Boat."

Stevie Wonder works on Drake's "Take Care"

The soul legend not only helped out Drizzy with the musical side of the album, but he also makes a cameo.
After bringing out Stevie Wonder as a special guest during his OVO Festival in Toronto, Canada last night, Drake revealed that the soul legend will appear on his upcoming sophomore album Take Care, due October 24th.
Speaking with Much Music, the Young Money rapper revealed that Wonder not only helped out with musical arrangements on Take Care, but also makes a guest appearance.
“Stevie Wonder is a very close friend of mine. I’m honored to call him a friend, someone who embraced me very early in this music business,” he said. “This is an exclusive right here, because it’s MuchMusic, and we’re Canadian: Stevie Wonder is actually on Take Care.”
Wonder has been in the studio with Drizzy to help guide the 24-year-old’s vision. “He helped me out with a lot of the music, just came and sat with me, listened to my music, told me where I could add a couple things to make it more sonically appealing, and not only that but we actually are writing together, which is an incredible experience,” he continued.
During last night’s show, Wonder played six songs including “Ribbon in the Sky,” “Sir Duke” and “Superstition.”
